J.C.Leyendecker is one of the key players in modern advertising, though few have heard his name. Working with Cluett Peabody&Company (the makers of Arrow collars), Leyendecker proposed not just one ad, but an entire campaign. He helped them work out the look and feel of the "Arrow man" and demonstrated the power of branding. This image is one of the Arrow collar ads, and it shows an emphasis not on the shirt or collar itself, but instead on an ideal. The ideal is that of the upper-class American man, at the same time masculine and refined.

Waldo Brian Donlevy (February 9, 1901 – April 6, 1972) was an American actor, who was noted for playing dangerous and tough characters. Usually appearing in supporting roles, among his best-known films are Beau Geste (1939), The Great McGinty (1940) and Wake Island (1942). For his role as the sadistic Sergeant Markoff in Beau Geste, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

The Travelers, Catalano’s most renowned series, is an exhibition of bronze sculptures that have captured the hearts and imaginations of viewers around the world. One of the defining features of the series is the sense of movement that Catalano imbues in each statue. The suitcases and bags they carry serve as both literal and metaphorical representations of the burdens and experiences they bring along on their journey.

Some travelers appear casual, dressed in simple clothing, while others are more formally dressed, suggesting a wide range of journeys, from the mundane to the profound.

Lady Lilith is an oil painting by Dante Gabriel Rossetti first painted in 1866 –1868 using his mistress Fanny Cornforth as the model, then altered in 1872–73 to show the face of Alexa Wilding.The subject is Lilith, who was, according to ancient Judaic myth, "the first wife of Adam" and is associated with the seduction of men and the murder of children. She is shown as a "powerful and evil temptress" and as "an iconic, Amazon-like female with long, flowing hair.

Rossetti's assistant, Henry Treffry Dunn, states that the final part painted was the flowery background. He and G. P. Boyce gathered large baskets of white roses from John Ruskin's garden in Denmark Hill, and returned with them to Rossetti's house in Chelsea. Dunn is thought to have later recreated Rossetti's picture of Lady Lilith in coloured chalk.

The white roses may indicate cold, sensuous love and reflect the tradition that roses first "blushed" or turned red upon meeting Eve.
